Frankie and Dublin's Bed's

This week-end I made a new bed for my niece's and her husband dogs..... The blue one is for Frankie, he is a Schnauzer and the yellow one is for Dublin, she is a "Chug" and that is part Chihuahua and Pug....... Dublin loves to sleep under a blanket so, I add blanket to the top and sewed it down on two sides so she can bury herself in it.... The material is fleece... :)

My Very Special Quilt

When my sister came home on Thursday she had this special package to give me.... I had no idea what it was.... My Best Friend on the Cape was in touch with Debbie, and mailed the package to where Debbie works.... That was so she could talk pictures of me opening the package..... I was ever so surprised to see the signature quilt inside the box..... All my Special Friends on the Cape Cod signed and wrote special sayings on their blocks.... I have never felt sooo, humble... It brought tears to my eye's as I was reading each block... I had belongs to "Cape Cod Quilters", "Pickles (Persian) Group", "Saturday Sewing Society" and "The Studio Girls".... We shared lots of idea's and helped each other when we needed it..... The Ladies have a Very Special place in my heart .... The back of the quilt has the Quilter's Poem embroidered on it..... The Poem goes .....

Quilter's Poem

Love is a quilt - a quilt is love
Both love and a quilt should be
Soft enough to comfort you,
Bright enough to cheer you,
Generous enough to enfold you,
Light enough to let you move freely,
Strong enough to withstand adversity
Durable enough to last a lifetime,
And given gladly, from the heart.

So, when I need a hug, I will wrap myself into this lovely quilt and think of all my friends are here and giving me a hug.... It will always be Very Special to me and no one will be using it but me, but, if my sister is sick and need special hugs, I will let her wrap herself in it.... That is because I always share....I THANK all these lovely LADIES from the bottom of my heart for their Friendship, Kindness, and very fond memories as well lots of Laughter..... Love You all .... :)

Easter Table Topper

This a close up of the bunny...She is in very pretty pastels... Her flower's were supposed to be made out of cloth, but I did not like the way they were coming out.... So, I put in some silk flowers with a pearl in the middle... It came out so much better.... :)

I made this Easter table topper .... It was a little challenging and I was able to get it together in time for Easter.... I had bought this material on the Cape in '08 as well as the pattern.... I am now trying to get to the projects that I had intended to do long time ago.... It was a fun project to do.... I did machine quilted the topper due to the fact that I did not have much time to get it done for Easter.... :)

Debbie's "Snowball Quilt" in the making

Debbie has 6 rows completed for her "Snowball Quilt".... She is doing a awesome job and works on it when she can.... It is made of Christmas fabric's....She is in no hurry to complete it and in hopes to have it done to put on the couch in the Den for Christmas....She is trying to work on it one day a week, due to the fact she works full time and If nothing is planned for the week-end, she will on the quilt.... It rained this week-end and we sewed on Saturday for about 5 hours... Then it was time to take a break... I needed to go to the store for some thread for my next project.....Keep up the great job Deb, I am proud of you and your quilting..... :)

Jacob"s "Big Dig" Quilt

Here is the quilt that I made for my grandson (Jacob)... It is called "Big Dig" ..... I bought the kit from Fonds and Potter , last year.... I started it in November '08 and I finished hand quilting it this past weekend.... I embroidered the tow trucks in the yellow blocks....This is the first project that I had embroidered something on a quilt.... There are a couple that came out a little crooked.... but, I did not have extra material to do over.... due to the fact it was a kit... Now , I need to put on a lable and send it to my Grandson Jacob in CT.... He will be getting it for Easter with a pillow case and a bag of M&M.... :)

Cabin Fever Shop Hop Purchases

Here are the things I picked up while on the Cabin Fever Shop Hop.... One of the quilt shop had fat quarters for $1.00 and I could not resist to get the 8 bright fat quarters ..... There are two to each color... I just love the colors and the prints.... The Moda squares were a special for the Shop Hop ladies only.... It was as I said before it was a lot of fun poking around all the shops we visited... You never know what you will find...If you click on the picture you can get a better look at my purchases as well as a better view of the fabric .... :)
