Paducah Quilt Show

My Sister, her friend (Pam) and I went to the Paducah Quilt show... These pictures are a very few quilts that we saw.. The workmanship is all the quilts that was there were spectacular.... The quilt on the bottom of the pictures is hexagon's that is the size of a dime.... This whole quilt is made of these little hexagon's, it was amazing to see this quilt and I wonder how long it took to make this bed size quilt....If you ever have an opportunity to go to Paducah , You should go and wear real good walking shoes... With all the quilts to see and all the vendors that are there, you could spend three days walking through all three buildings in order to see everything.... I left there with quilt overload, but I enjoyed every minute that I was there... :)

I recognize the quilt with the man and woman ignoring each other from Houston. It really caught my eye; I took pictures of it too. Did it win any prize in Paducah? The rest of the quilts you have pictured are really lovely too. Isn't it great to see the high level that quilting can attain at these big shows? I'm always just flabbergasted at the artistry and skill.

Also, did you get to see Little Brown Bird applique quilt done up in deep purple that won Best in Show in Dallas? I spoke with the maker and she said it was on its way to Paducah. I cannot believe it wouldn't have won some sort of prize - that was one spectacular quilt.

Thanks for the pictures,
Susan

By the way...the second and third quilts you have posted on this blog post from Paducah....my booth was right across from these on the first floor in the convention center. Did I meet you? I was demoing the EZ Dresden ruler and the EZ Scallop ruler just to jog your memory!
