Happy New Year

I want to wish all my Friends and Family a "Happy and Healthy New Year"... The includes to everyone in "Blog Land... " I am back so keep an eye out to see what I am up to... Hugs and Stitches :)

What happen since I moved

Hi all and I have to let you all know what I have done since I have moved.... My sister was concern that I have not posted nothing for a while... So, I hope I do not bore you in this post... Enjoy  :)

We got snow in February, we got 4 inches of snow and Barbara and her neighbor was scrapping ice off their street because the mailman could not make it up the street... Here in NC everything comes to a stand still when it snows.... They do not plow streets... :
I made this cork board with wine corks I got from Amazon... I got the idea from my sister's friend... They had made one for her and I loved it... It is in my quilting studio... If you click on the picture you can get a better look at it.... Thanks for the idea Debbie... :)

This is a TV stand I got for my living room... Barbara's husband goes to auctions and he got this cabinet for $50 ... I needed a TV stand and I fell in love with it... It is oak and I am a big fan of oak... It fits perfect in my living room... :)

I found this picture at a consignment shop for $20... I fell in love with it and it now is in my spare room... Oh I forgot to let you all know that I am starting life over and I needed lots of things... :)

While I was organizing my sewing room I decided to hang my rulers on the back of the door... I saw it somewhere and I thought it was a great idea... My sewing room is small and all ideas to save space I am all for it... :)

A friend of mine lost her Grandson (18 years old) in a car accident... She asked if I would make a t-shirt quilt for her daughter... Yes, I was able to get little quilting done... It was completed and delivered to her daughter... She cried when she saw and loved it.... :)

This is the back... It is not so pretty but I put the flannel shirts on the back... The cat kept running on the quilt and that is why there is a wrinkle in the lower left corner... :)

Last but least here is my two girls... The top picture is the baby (Cali) who I just adopted three weeks ago... Cali is about 3 mo. old... The second picture is my Princess ... She is sitting on the ledge watching be doing some Christmas baking...  They sure make life interesting and entertaining... Hugs:)

I hope you enjoy all these pictures I am going to try my best to post more regular and to get more sewing done... I am long over due to sew...  I hope everyone out there had a wonderful Christmas and My you all have a wonderful and Happy New Year.... Hugs and Stitches to all  :)

My Birthday Quilt

When I was living on the Cape Cod, MA I helped Adele with selling her products  at quilt shows.... This quilt was made by her mother (Gloria), It was a new ruler Adele got and a pattern book that she sells.... Her mother made the quilt for the quilt shows to help sell the ruler.... It is a very easy pattern to do and you use 2 1/2" strips..... I fell in love with this quilt and never expected her to send it to me for my birthday.... Of course Princess had to get into the picture.... :)

This is a close shot of the block... The picture does nothing for the quilt.... Adele has a on line web that you can buy her products... If you go to Adele Scott's Design Studio you can purchase any of her products.... She is a wonderful person to work with... Thanks Adele for my Birthday Quilt... Hugs :)

I just love the colors that came with this kit.... Maybe I will get it finished by years end... I am not holding my breath.... lol Hugs :)

Of course I had to take a picture of my little girl... She loves to sleep in this hammock while I am in my sewing room.... She was just getting settled when I took this picture.... My sewing room is almost in order... Hugs :)

A few thing to show you...

This is a picture of my cat who had a Birthday on the 24th of June.... Princess turned one... She is so much fun to have around... Yes, she jumped on my dresser.... She thinks she owns the whole place and is everywhere in the house... :)

When I went to Florida in March to visit my friend Ruth she surprised me with this doll... Ruth has been making porcelain dolls for some time... Her name is Violet .... Well you should seen us pack her into my carry on suitcase.... All in all she made it home safe... I did not take her picture before now because I was looking for a chair to sit her in....When I visited my friend Susan this month we found a perfect chair for her.... :)

Here is a better at her face... She is so sweet...She has a violet silk flower in her hands... Thank you Ruth for making her for me... I will always think of you when I look at her.... Hugs :)

When I was in Florida I say this needlepoint and had to have it... It will be a pillow when it is done but, I got the needlepoint finished.... When I visit Susan (who lives the other side of NC) I always bring hand work when I visit her... I finished the center while I was there... This will be the first thing I ever had with my monogram on it.... I will post it again when the pillow is finished.... :)

"My Trip to Florida"

I get invited to Ruth's house in Florida every winter... I went there in March this year... This is the view from her back yard... The house is on a canal... It is a beautiful view... :)

This is the view looking the other way... It opens up to the ocean... :)

Of course I had to take a picture of Ruth's dog.... Jody is resting after running around outside... She is a sweet dog and she makes sure I am up every morning to let her out... :)

Ruth made this quilt while she stays in Florida during the winter... I just love it and it came out beautiful... All she has to do is quilt it... This quilt is for a baby shower... :)

Ruth had this Jo Morton quilt done by the time I got to Florida ... We went to the west side of Florida to go shop hopping to different quilt shops... Lets just say I kept Florida green...lol... I had to ship my fabric's that I bought home.... We had so many laughs and lots of fun...Hugs :)

Our Second Snow Storm

This is the picture in front of my friends house of our second snow fall this winter... We got 4 1/2 inches....:(

This is Princess first time out in the snow... She did not know what to do but, she did run back into the house...:)

Here is Barbara (she is looking at me) and our neighbor trying to get the ice removed from our street... Here in North Carolina they do not plow the side streets.... Our street has an incline and everyone even the mailman got stuck going up.... We were trying to help our neighbors get out... The weatherman said this winter is the worst in 15 years... Go figure ... I moved here in Sept. 2013 to get away from the snow... Oh well they all blame me... Hugs :)

My visit to Susan's House

I was visiting my friends in Grifton, NC and we had a snow storm... We got 4 1/2 inches and this is the first snow thay have had in 15 years... In Denver,NC where I had moved to got only 2 inches... These two pictures are taken at Susan's house.... I moved to NC to get away from the snow, ha, ha.... We were snuggled in the house... :)

Here are some of Susan's quilts that she has made.... There are a few quilts that stills need quilting... I love how she has them displayed in the cabinet in her living room.... :)

While I was visiting Susan she finished her Valentine table runner... She had to applique the heart's, stems and the leaves before she can quilt it.... She forgot that she had this made up and while I was appliqueing my block she remembered she had this table runner to finish.... :)

This is her dog Wade Hamilton .... We have became best friends... As I close I do want to let you all know I met Susan and her husband while I was living on Cape Cod years ago... She moved to NC to be closer to her children.... A BIG THANK YOU to Susan and Lem for a wonderful visit .... It was wonderful to chat with someone who quilts... I have not talked about quilting  since I moved to NC... Hugs :)

Reminiscence Quilt

After I moved to NC and with all my sewing things are in storage, I decided to start on this quilt... I had bought this kit some time ago and it is easier to work on while I start to look for a house... The pattern is called "Reminiscence"... I have completed four blocks so far... They are all done by hand applique ... I enjoy doing hand work, and one day when this quilt is done it will go on either my bed or guest room... If you click on the pictures you will be able to see each one better... Enjoy ... Hugs :)
