"My Trip to Florida"

I get invited to Ruth's house in Florida every winter... I went there in March this year... This is the view from her back yard... The house is on a canal... It is a beautiful view... :)

This is the view looking the other way... It opens up to the ocean... :)

Of course I had to take a picture of Ruth's dog.... Jody is resting after running around outside... She is a sweet dog and she makes sure I am up every morning to let her out... :)

Ruth made this quilt while she stays in Florida during the winter... I just love it and it came out beautiful... All she has to do is quilt it... This quilt is for a baby shower... :)

Ruth had this Jo Morton quilt done by the time I got to Florida ... We went to the west side of Florida to go shop hopping to different quilt shops... Lets just say I kept Florida green...lol... I had to ship my fabric's that I bought home.... We had so many laughs and lots of fun...Hugs :)

Our Second Snow Storm

This is the picture in front of my friends house of our second snow fall this winter... We got 4 1/2 inches....:(

This is Princess first time out in the snow... She did not know what to do but, she did run back into the house...:)

Here is Barbara (she is looking at me) and our neighbor trying to get the ice removed from our street... Here in North Carolina they do not plow the side streets.... Our street has an incline and everyone even the mailman got stuck going up.... We were trying to help our neighbors get out... The weatherman said this winter is the worst in 15 years... Go figure ... I moved here in Sept. 2013 to get away from the snow... Oh well they all blame me... Hugs :)

My visit to Susan's House

I was visiting my friends in Grifton, NC and we had a snow storm... We got 4 1/2 inches and this is the first snow thay have had in 15 years... In Denver,NC where I had moved to got only 2 inches... These two pictures are taken at Susan's house.... I moved to NC to get away from the snow, ha, ha.... We were snuggled in the house... :)

Here are some of Susan's quilts that she has made.... There are a few quilts that stills need quilting... I love how she has them displayed in the cabinet in her living room.... :)

While I was visiting Susan she finished her Valentine table runner... She had to applique the heart's, stems and the leaves before she can quilt it.... She forgot that she had this made up and while I was appliqueing my block she remembered she had this table runner to finish.... :)

This is her dog Wade Hamilton .... We have became best friends... As I close I do want to let you all know I met Susan and her husband while I was living on Cape Cod years ago... She moved to NC to be closer to her children.... A BIG THANK YOU to Susan and Lem for a wonderful visit .... It was wonderful to chat with someone who quilts... I have not talked about quilting  since I moved to NC... Hugs :)

Reminiscence Quilt

After I moved to NC and with all my sewing things are in storage, I decided to start on this quilt... I had bought this kit some time ago and it is easier to work on while I start to look for a house... The pattern is called "Reminiscence"... I have completed four blocks so far... They are all done by hand applique ... I enjoy doing hand work, and one day when this quilt is done it will go on either my bed or guest room... If you click on the pictures you will be able to see each one better... Enjoy ... Hugs :)

Quilt for the Great Grandchild

I made this quilt for Irene to give to her Granddaughter... She will have her baby in February... Irene asked me to make a quilt for her first Great-Grandchild... Her theme for the baby was Lion King... After a search I could not find any fabric, I only found fat quarters... This was the best I could do, and She loved it... Irene wanted a little puffy... :)

This is the label, and I put minke on the back of the quilt... The label reads " Emerson, My littlest Angel" Love Great-Grandma Conroy.... If you click on the picture you can get a better look at it...:)

The baby shower was held this past Sunday... Cortney made the cake, she has never taken cake decorating and she does a wonderful job... Cortney is holding the cake while Sarah writes the baby's name on it...  Hugs :)

"Funraising Quilts"

These three quilts were to raise money for my girlfriend's brother-in-law who needed double lung transplant  surgery.... When Barbara told me that her brother-in-law needed the surgery and asked if I would make a quilt for a fund raising for him... I said that I would and when I was telling my friends on the Cape they wanted to help as well.... My friend Adele donated these three quilt kits... The top quilt is for a girl, the second is for a man, and the third is for a woman... Click on the to get a better look at the .... I was overwhelm with her generosity... She has a business in selling quilting products.... I sewed the tops together then quilted them... We did very well at the silent auction to raise money for the surgery.... A BIG Thanks to Adele ... Hugs :)

"Princess"

I want to introduce a new addition to my family.... This is Princess.... A friend of mine took her in till I got to be with her.... The story behind this lovely cat is... Barbara's step-daughter found this cat outside her house crying... She gave the cat to Barbara and, she took her in and took her to the vet.... Someone had to throw her out their car because Princess had two cracked teeth, scraped chin and scraped pads... She also had eye infection.... The vet said that she was approximately 11 weeks old... She is 100% better and Barbara could not keep her because she has 3 other rescued cats... So, she has become mine...I fell in love with her right away.... I just do not know how someone could be so cruel... Hugs :)
